Services
Content Editing
Working with you to resolve the “big picture” issues in your manuscripts, including structure, form, plot, and character. The focus here is on wider content elements, and will not address sentence-level errors such as punctuation, and grammar typos. Once your manuscript has been revised, reshaped, and developed, it will be ready for a copy edit and proofread.
CA$50 per hour.
Copy Editing
Copy editing fine-tunes your written work, otherwise known as the ‘copy’ through a meticulous line-by-line focus on all the little things you might not have considered. A copy edit addresses grammatical or punctuation errors, incorrect facts, anomalies, inconsistencies, and typos. The purpose here is to ensure that the language supports your intent, and to create the most readable version of your work. Copy editing will not address big-picture issues such as plot, form, pacing, overall structure, and so on.
CA$40 per hour.
Proofreading
As the final stage of the editing process, proofreading ensures that your book is free from spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and inconsistencies, such as punctuation mistakes, misused homophones, and layout issues. This step is the last chance to catch mistakes. You must do the copy editing stage prior to proofreading.
CA$30 per hour.
